Mindful of all living beings

We deeply care about all living beings. Therefore, we aim to avoid animal-based ingredients.

The only two non-vegan ingredients used in a few of our cosmetic products are organic bees wax, that is unprocessed and from ecological beekeeping, and organic dairy emulsifier, made of organic milk, highly skin-friendly for sensitive and dry skin.

We have consciously chosen to use these two ingredients in our cosmetic products for their specific nourishing properties and their outstanding skin-friendliness.

With that, over 75% of our natural cosmetic products and over 90% of our entire product range are vegan.

As close to nature as possible

All PRIMAVERA essential oils are 100% pure. Our oils are genuine single-origin products, uncompromised and absolutely natural. No synthetics, parabens or nature-identical additives are used, nor do any of our products stem from genetically modified plants.

We keep the essential oil exactly as it was carefully distilled, maintaining its original purity. We are as close to nature as possible.

Furthermore, our essential oils are single-origin i.e. they contain exclusively the oil of its original plant, without adding synthetics or diluting it with other oils. This also means, we do not add any isolated elementary components of the respective oil in order to artificially “create” a particular quality (for instance as done with DAB oils).

Our oils contain no genetically modified aromas that can still be legally labeled “natural” by law. Our precious essences exclusively derive from the leaves, blossoms, fruits, twigs and roots of the original plant.

In the practice of wild harvest, the plant is harvested in the wild where it naturally chose to grow and therefor can unfold its full potential. The plants are carefully harvested by hand, protecting the surrounding plant life.

Our certified wild harvesting practice is exclusively based on strictly monitored local harvesting permits that regulate and coordinate the legal wild harvest within a certain region, sustainably keeping nature’s cycle intact.

Responsibility for the earth’s ecological balance

PRIMAVERA uses the highest amount of certified organic ingredients available and actively supports organic agriculture projects worldwide that rely on biodiversity, crop rotation, chemical-free pest controls and fertilizers, and no GMOs for farming.

Agriculture is a living organism which distinguishes itself by the harmonious interaction of earth, plant, animal and people. This holistic approach is at the heart of certified organic cultivation. Here biodiversity rules instead of monoculture, and healthy grounds offer living space for flora and fauna.

These cultivation projects are the core of our high-quality work. Biodynamic cultivation with heart and integrity

Demeter is the oldest organic organization in Germany and the biggest brand for biodynamic produce since 1924. The philosophy of biodynamic agriculture goes back to Rudolf Steiner, who also initiated the Waldorf education and anthroposophical healing approach in the beginning of the 20th century.

Biodynamic cultivation creates a harmonious relationship with the earth and its components, nourishing the land through compost and fertilizer to vitalize and restore. In addition, cosmic rhythms are taken into consideration, with planting and harvesting schedules created to best benefit the plant. Biodynamic cultivation performs constructive environmental effects concerning ground renewal, long-term fertility and the biodiversity of plants and animals.

Only strictly controlled and contractually bound partners are permitted to use the brand. A comprehensive verification process insures strict compliance with the International Demeter Production and Processing Standards, as well as applicable organic regulations in the various countries – without a gap, through every step, from agricultural production to processing and final product packaging.

The holistic Demeter requirements exceed government mandated regulations. Not only do they exclude the use of synthetic fertilizers and chemical plant protection agents in agricultural crop production, or artificial additives during processing, but also require very specific measures to strengthen the life processes in soil and foodstuffs. Demeter farmers and processors actively contribute toward the shaping of a future worth living for.

NATRUE was developed by an international group of pioneers in the personal care industry to protect the integrity of genuinely natural and organic products through comprehensive standards and a corresponding label. Lack of official government regulation and too many labels cause confusion on the market and undermine customer trust. NATRUE’s goal is to provide reliable guidance to customers worldwide.

We are connected to everything

The respectful treatment of animals is very important to us. We therefore hold a strong value and commitment, never to engage in any kind of animal testing. We do not use any ingredients tested on animals, we do not test any of our products on animals and we’ve never done business with anyone who practices animal testing.

We follow the guidelines of the IHTN (The International Manufactory Association against Animal Testing in Cosmetics) – one of the strictest animal protection organizations worldwide. The IHTN logo depicts a rabbit protected by a human hand. It indicates the strictest rules against animal testing within the cosmetics industry. This logo helps distinguish products made under the guidelines of the German Animal Protection Association and regulated by the International Manufactory Association against Animal Testing in Cosmetics.

Under this label, permissible ingredients exclude any substances tested on animals after January 1979. The label does not accept animal testing for the development and production of products nor does it allow the use of raw materials that require any animal testing, torture or killing.

PRIMAVERA demonstrates a firm position against animal cruelty and is pleased to display this mark in solidarity with cruelty-free initiatives.
